Merry New Year!
Let's make this next trip around the calendar count.
What We’re Up To
Hey y’all!
Hopefully your holidays have been going well. Things are good over on this side of the inbox. We just dropped an episode last week about our favorite movie soundtracks, you can get into it here if you haven’t already.👇🏾
We made a couple of playlists to go along with it, filled with songs from our favorite soundtracks. Because there were so many songs, we had to split them up between R&B and hip hop. Hit us up in the comments to tell us some of your favorite movie soundtracks!
Speaking of playlists, we also put together a sampler of songs from our favorite albums of 2025. Some of the albums we talked about here in the newsletter, some we kept to ourselves, but we’re sharing it all with you now.

What We’re Listening To
From the Private Collection of Saba & No ID by Saba & No ID
I’d been seeing this album pop up on a few “2025 best of” lists for a minute now, and finally decided to jump into it a couple of days ago. I wasn’t really familiar with Saba, other than seeing his name mentioned here and there, but I’m well versed in No ID’s production, so if his name is attached, then I figured it was worth giving it a shot. This ended up being better than I anticipated, so I think this was worthy of it’s placement on these lists. Check it out.

My Favorite Lyrics with Devin Walker
My Favorite Lyrics is a music comedy podcast hosted by former SNL cast member Devon Walker. He doesn’t spend time trying to break down lines, figuring out the hidden and layered meanings, he just wants his guests to talk about a song that they like.
Each week on My Favorite Lyrics, comedian and SNL cast member Devon Walker invites people he thinks are cool to talk about the music that shaped them and the lyrics they can't get out of their heads. Iconic, idiotic, or accidentally profound, no bar is safe.
