What We’re Up To
Hey y’all!
Tony! Toni! Toné! said that “It Never Rains In Southern California,” but it’s been coming down hoard since we’ve been here this week. Which is good, because the area needs it. Just being at home in LA is all I really need, but at the same time, I wanna hang out outside before going back to the cold of Toronto. Ah well.
If you haven’t already done so, could you spare a little time today to take our 2025 listener survey? We want to get some feedback from y’all about what you love, what we can improve, and what you’d like to see more of in future episodes.
This survey will only take a few minutes to complete, and your answers will remain anonymous.

What We’re Watching
Get Millie Black on Max
I stumbled on this one while on a flight earlier this week. I’m only one episode in so far, but what I’ve seen up to this point has me ready to watch the rest of the series on the flight home in a couple of days.
Get Millie Black follows ex-Scotland Yard detective Millie-Jean Black who returns home to Jamaica after her mother's passing and joins the Kingston police force. When a local girl disappears, Millie and her partner uncover ties to a prominent family — just as a Scotland Yard inspector arrives with his own agenda. Haunted by the ghosts of a sibling who refuses to be saved and a child who can't be found, Millie's search for the truth leads her on an intercontinental chase that threatens to blow up her world.

What We’re Listening To
Muddy Waters Too by Redman
Continuing the trend of 90’s rappers putting out dope projects 30+ years into their careers, Redman dropped the long-awaited sequel to 1996’s Muddy Waters. He’s talked about this album for at least 15 years, and it’s finally here. It doesn’t reach the heights of his early albums, but it’s still a solid piece of work, and much better than a lot of other stuff that’s out right now.
Listen to Muddy Waters Too here.
You Down Wit’ O.P.P.? (Other Peoples Podcasts)
2 Jews and 2 Black Dudes Review The Movies by ItsTheReal and The LOX
The title says that there are only 2 Black dudes, but all 3 of The LOX are involved the podcast, although Jadakiss may or may not fall asleep while they’re watching whatever movie the episode is about. This may seem like an unlikely grouping for a movie review podcast, but it works.
2J2BD is the collaboration of comedian brothers Eric and Jeff Rosenthal of ItsTheReal and legendary rappers Styles P, Sheek Louch and Jadakiss of The LOX. Each episode is a dynamic conversation between two sets of best friends who all grew up ten minutes from each other, but under completely different circumstances; the discussions touch on deep, thoughtful and utterly ridiculous subject matter and bring up the most random and fascinating stories. It's amazingly unique and undeniably entertaining.
